After meeting the client, we narrowed the designs down to two. The one on the left the client really liked the typography and the one on the right I liked but he wasn’t convinced. The client thinks the typography slant looks too sloppy.
He loves the colour and style. What he wasn’t sure of was the star, he likes it but wants it more unique to the brand.
I had my final tutorial yesterday and thought it would be a good idea to take these designs to the client and discuss them. I got some great suggestions from my fellow students and tutor which lead me to put together last night a collage to gain further inspiration from and to show the client and see which one he prefers or wants to work on.
The client and I also went through the clothing logo and designed this.
The typography is wrong but after I showed him my idea, see below, he liked it but we played around with it during the meeting and he really likes the one above. It is simple and has the brand name showing which for a new sportswear company wanting to get their name recognised and known is pretty important in the early stages. It just needs the new star shape and typography changing. I designed the below logo to keep it simple, h for hot and the shape of the star for star which linked together clearly shows hotstar. I used the colour that the client likes and used a black to make the h stand out. The logo below was a rough design to show an idea I had to the client for when we met to discuss further what he had in mind. The fact we then sat down and designed a clothing logo guide for me to then progress on when I have found “the right star” is a great step forward and shows to me his want to make this brand work and working with me to achieve this.
Yesterdays client meeting and the feedback received from my last tutorial made yesterday a very productive design day.
